The world needs a bit more sparkle and magic in it...so why not use mica to brighten it up? This workshop with Suzie Beringer will focus on how mica can be used in lettering, design work and sometimes, just adding a touch of elegance in the work we are doing.
Exploring the possibilities of the monoline letterform, this workshop with Julie Wildman will guide participants through a series of exercises designed to help you see letters as shapes made of up positive and negative space.
Circles . . . no beginning . . . no end. Looking around us, we can see circular designs everywhere. As lettering artists, they also provide a way for us to step away from the "straight base line" and create something different - something fresh!
Creative tiny foundational letterforms and Roman capitals using the versatile pointed pen will be our focus for this workshop.
Heather Held will be teaching ‘The Artful Flourish’ this April as a virtual workshop. In this workshop, Heather teaches offhand flourishing; a unique, non-lettering art form created with a pointed steel pen.
When Amity was with us in 2019 presenting her Chunky Caps in the "Bold and Blended" workshop, we were intrigued to learn she had an accompanying miniscule alphabet. We are finally able to schedule her for a return engagement to learn those minuscules.
"Slow and Steady" is Amity's new workshop, an outgrowth of her work during Covid. In her words, "There are times when our lettering calls for a new way of working to achieve the effect we are looking for.

Yukimi Annand will be teaching a virtual workshop titled, “Drawn and Build-Up Capitals”, which is a study of Hermann Kilian’s work with the Roman alphabet.
