“Beautiful. Creative.” “Such a cool idea! Glad to participate.” “Very moving” “Lovely! What a ‘tree-t’!” “Peaceful” “Could stay for hours – Thanks” “Inspiring” “Wonderful. A gift to our community. Thank You!!”

These are just a few of the many comments written in the guest book for the Treewhispers exhibition during its June-July 2019 run at the Kalamazoo Nature Center. A huge thanks to our Exhibit Co-chairs, Kim Dixon and Chris Orsolini, for overseeing this memorable event – or rather series of events starting over a year earlier – in the life of our guild and our community. Thank you to all of you who made rounds, told your own tree stories, helped with installation and ‘de-forestation’, and helped host the opening reception and free-admission First Sunday demonstrations and other tree-story-telling activities at the Nature Center. We are also indebted to RiverRun Press, Parchment, Michigan for their sponsorship.

The Treewhispers ‘forest’ has now been delivered to Ohio and will be installed in January 2020 at the Dawes Arboretum in Newark, OH, east of Columbus. The rounds done in our community – over 300 of them!! – will be sent to Pamela Paulsrud to be assembled into trees for the Ohio or another future exhibition. A Treewhispers installation will also begin in October 2019 at the Frisco Fine Arts Center in Frisco, Texas, near Dallas. The Kaligrafos Calligraphy Guild is sponsoring that installation and has made all the rounds and tree assemblages for their exhibit.

Remember that this is a continuing project and you can always add your tree stories. See Treewhispers.com for information.
