Beginning Calligraphy

We will be studying the fundamentals of calligraphy by using the hand commonly known as Copperplate. Starting with posture and how to hold a pen, we’ll transition into the specifics of nibs, writing paper, shading, spacing, making lines, flourishing, and corrections. You’ll also learn about Titivillus, light tables, laser lines, pencil layouts, computer layouts, erasing shields, and workable fix. Students should expect take home calligraphy homework through this six-part course.
